    • George did not manage his estate well. It is said of his seven years enjoyment of the family lands that "he spent the half of them, and if he had lived another seven he would have spent the whole."

      He was so overgrown with fat that he could not turn in his bed without two or three men assisting him. For several years before his death, he never left his bed.

      He married the daughter of Hugh Wallace of Inglistown, a sister of his father's third wife.

      He died "unlamented" in either 1730 (ref. (1)) or 1731 (ref. (2)). He had no children, and was succeeded by his half-brother, Gustavus.
