  • Notes
    • Hector was enlisted into the Army by Capt. E.R. Jones, 15 Aug 1862, in Sparta, Illinois for 3 years. His enlistment papers describe him as 20 years old, 6 feet tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, sandy hair, occupation: student. He was a private in Company F, 80th Regiment, Illinois Infantry.

He died of chronic diarrhea, on 21 Apr 1863, in General Hospital No. 8, Nashville, Tennessee.

Error alert: According to the dates given in references, when Hector was born, his mother was 59 years old. That might be possible, but unlikely.
